Certificate Programs

Aerospace Studies & Research Program (ASRP)

Aerospace Studies & Research Program (ASRP) will result in establishing a certificate in Aerospace Engineering within the Department of Mechanical Engineering and University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez (UPRM). The main purpose of this program will be: (i) to provide students with a background in aerospace engineering by using the Mechanical Engineering knowledge and applying it to tomorrow's technology; (ii) to establish collaborative programs with other educational institutions and industries, and thus providing solutions to technical problems in aerospace engineering; and (iii) to increase external research collaboration opportunities in aerospace-related projects.

The aerospace program will focus on four main areas in the field of aerospace engineering: aerodynamics, aerospace structures, design, and jet engine design and analysis. Students participating in this program are expected to comply with the requisites of towards their baccalaureate, and in addition take one summer, one semester internship, or submit a peer-review journal publication in an aerospace related job description. All students must be members of AIAA to receive the certificate. For more information click here...
